TEDx Detroit 2011 - Detroit's Got Talent!

Ideas Worth Sharing! That’s the stated mission of the original TED Conference and the 100’s of regional TEDx events now held each year around the world. From the original event which takes place each year in Long Beach, California, TEDx events have spread virally around the world in cities such as Bali and Bangalore to Toronto and Tokyo from Stockholm to Athens and Nairboi, Belgrad, Timisoara, Kingston and elsewhere in-between.

TEDx Detroit  is the first of the events that I have had the chance to attend live. While the morning lineup of speakers was each impressive in their own right, it almost seemed a warm-up for the afternoon line-up which just about blew me away! As much inspirational as it was entertaining, the variety and caliber of talks and entertainment was impressive and I managed to take something away from just about everyone who set foot on stage. The buzz in Detroit Orchestra Hall during the afternoon was palpable. If TEDx Detroit is a true indicator of the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of the re-emerging Detroit then I would say that watch out because we’re ready for a comeback!

Here is just a sampling of the various speakers and entertainers from the event. Enjoy and remember that these are all Ideas Worth Sharing!
